  • Vallery Mitchell

    Vallery Mitchell is a 30 years-old DeSoto, Texas native that was removed from the care of her biological mother at birth due to testing positive for cocaine, marijuana and fetal alcohol syndrome. Vallery spent time in the NICU after being born and was placed in a foster home four days after being born in Killeen, Texas. Doctors were concerned Vallery would not survive her birth conditions however Vallery made a full recovery in a short amount of time but remained in foster care for 6 years after her birth. On September 15, 2000 Vallery was finally adopted by the Mitchells, her forever family and moved to DeSoto, Texas.

    Vallery graduated High School from Canterbury Episcopal College Preparatory School in 2012 where she was a member of The National Honor Society and 2 - Time State Champion Volleyball Team.

    Vallery completed her undergraduate collegiate studies at Midwestern State University obtaining a Bachelors in Criminal Justice. Vallery began her junior year of college securing a full-time position as a Detention Officer at Wichita County Jail throughout her junior year of college and in pursuit of learning more in the criminal justice field, she left Wichita County Jail where she had been promoted to a Central Book-In Officer to become employed as a Commissioned (Armed ) Security Officer at United Regional Health Care Systems her senior year of college. In 2015, after becoming acclimated with her job as Armed Security and senior year course work, Vallery resumed her volleyball coaching career that she started in 2010. Vallery had the opportunity to train over 100 Wichita, Clay, and Montague County athletes before leaving the Wichita County area in 2016. Vallery received numerous accolades her senior year of college which included being the first recipient of The Black Excellence Honoree Award presented at the First Black Excellence Gala hosted by Midwestern State University in February of 2016 and United Regional Commissioned Security Officer Merit Award.

    Vallery moved back to Dallas, Texas in August of 2016 and obtained a volleyball coaching job at John Paul II Catholic High School in Plano, Texas as the Head Freshman Volleyball Coach where she led the team to a winning season.

    In November of 2016 Vallery obtained employment in foster care advocacy with Texas Department of Family Protective Services as an entry level conservatorship worker and was promoted annually until her departure February 2023. Vallery departed from Texas Department of Family Protective Services as a Child Protective Services State Office Contract Developer and Manager after six years of relentless advocacy to pursue full-time entrepreneurship under her brand Aspire & Cultivate Logistics.

    In June of 2023 Vallery accepted a position as Head of Program/Varsity Volleyball Coach and Technology Instructor at UME Preparatory for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Vallery will be returning to UME Preparatory Academy for the 2024 - 2025.

    Vallery has a set mission to restore normalcy for children from all walks of life and continues to change the lives of children on a daily basis.

    Vallery lives by the motto of “Support the children, Sponsor their dreams.”
