Fostering Dreams Volleyball

Fostering Dreams Volleyball was established in March of 2020 by Vallery Mitchell who is the Owner as well as Director/Head Coach over the organizations training, recreational, and club programs. Vallery began her coaching tenure at the age of 16 years old and has since garnered 16 years of coaching experience. Vallery also has 17 years of playing experience in which she achieved 2 state championship titles, state honorable mentions and played on the collegiate club volleyball level.

Fostering Dreams Volleyball goal is to provide elite volleyball training and team opportunities to athletes in Southern Dallas County and currently utilizes DeSoto Recreation Center and Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center to facilitate recreational and club team practices and the Year-Round Dreamers Volleyball Academy. Fostering Dreams Volleyball is growing rapidly and plans to continue developing partnerships with local ISD’s and recreational facilities to help grow competitive volleyball training and teams in Southern Dallas County.

Fostering Dreams Volleyball is currently entering their third club volleyball season with 2 club teams.. Fostering Dreams Volleyball provides summer recreational opportunities each summer. All teams are INVITE only and athlete’s interested in being on a team must attend Dreamers Volleyball Academy or Private Skills Training for at least 3 months to receive an invitation to be a participant on a team. Dreamers Volleyball Academy is all year long on Mondays at DeSoto Recreation Center with a price of $45 per academy session. Private Lesson’s are conducted by Director Vallery Mitchell at DeSoto Recreation Center for the price of $75 per session. Junior DreamTeam Club Prep fees vary between $2,350 - $3,000. DreamTeam Club Volleyball fees vary between $3,250 - $4,000.

    Owner, Director & Head Volleyball Coach

    Vallery Mitchell is a 30-years-old DeSoto, Texas native. Coach Vallery Mitchell is known for her firm, gracious, and patient approach to coaching athletes all over Texas for the last 16 years. Coach Vallery Mitchell founded Fostering Dreams Volleyball Club in November of 2020. In 2023 Coach Vallery Mitchell accepted the Head of Volleyball Program/Varsity Volleyball Coach at UME Preparatory Dallas. Coach Vallery Mitchell is also known for her Volleyball Bibles that has bridged the IQ gap for volleyball athletes over Texas. Vallery believes in “Turning Dreams into Reality One Volley at a Time”

  • Jasmine Sharpe

    Coach Jasmine Sharpe or “Coach Jas” was born and raised in Ft. Worth Texas. Coach Jas has played volleyball for more than 15 years and coaching for 3 years. Coach Jas shares that her passion for the sport is the same as it was when she first started playing. Coach Jasmine Sharpe graduated from Midwestern State University with a degree in Sports Medicine. Coach Jasmine Sharpe loves to incorporate her knowledge that she obtained within coaching volleyball. Over the years Coach Jas has cultured her coaching style to focus on motivational leadership, performance improvement, athletic safety, and to build overall confidence.

    Coach Jasmine’s love for volleyball is contagious and enjoys sharing the love of the game with young aspiring athletes.

  • Khy'ria Glaspie

    14u Synergetic Coach

    Coach Khy was born and raised in Dallas Texas and began her volleyball career in 7th grade. She attended Cedar Hill High School where she lead her team to playoffs and graduated in 2015. She received the Honorable Mention award for her district her senior year. After high school, Coach Khy received a scholarship to play volleyball at Cameron University as a setter and Defensive specialist, and concluded her volleyball career at Mountain View College where she received her Associates in Science. This will be Coach Khy’s third year coaching club volleyball.

  • Xavier Herring

    16u Assistant Coach

    Xavier Herring is the 2024 DreamTeam High School Senior intern. X avier Herring developed his love for the game while watching his volleyball enthusiast cousin play the game she loves. Xavier has developed his volleyball coaching under the leadership and mentorship of Coach Vallery Mitchell. Xavier is set to graduate from Cedar Hil High School in May of 2024 and plans to become an entrepreneur after graduation.

  • Terry Ann Nellams Herring

    Athletic Director

    Terry Ann Nellams Herring is a native of Louisiana.

    Terry Ann worked professional with the Juvenile Detention System; Child Care Licensed Day Care; United States Postal Service; Louisiana State Park Warden; Classroom Teacher, Athletic Director with Excelsior Christian School- “2005 State Championship Boys Basketball Team in Monroe, Louisiana ; Curriculum Coordinator, Administrator Assistant with the Ouachita Parish School System; Child Protective Services Senior Advanced Specialist and Child Protective Investigations Family Group Decision Making Specialist with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
