Fostering Dreams Volleyball was established in March 2020 by Vallery Mitchell, who serves as both the Owner and the Director/Head Coach of the organization’s training, recreational, and club programs. The mission of Fostering Dreams Volleyball is to provide competitive volleyball training and team opportunities for athletes in Southern Dallas County. The organization currently utilizes the DeSoto Recreation Center to conduct practices for recreational and club teams, as well as operate the Year-Round Dreamers Volleyball Academy.

Since its inception, Fostering Dreams Volleyball has proudly facilitated the Life School Oak Cliff Team Placement Camp annually and has organized weekly summer skills clinics at the Life School Oak Cliff Campus. In June 2024, Fostering Dreams Volleyball launched its inaugural eight-week Dreamers Summer Recreational School Partnership, offering summer recreational teams and training to athletes at UME Preparatory Academy. Additionally, in July 2024, the organization inaugurated the Glenn Heights Community Center Dreamers Volleyball Academy and plans to establish a Dreamers Volleyball Academy in collaboration with Dallas Parks and Recreation Centers, starting at Hiawatha Williams Recreation Center in March 2025. Fostering Dreams Volleyball is experiencing rapid growth and aims to continue developing partnerships with local Independent School Districts (ISDs) and recreational facilities to enhance competitive volleyball training and team opportunities in Southern Dallas County.

As Fostering Dreams Volleyball enters its fourth club volleyball season, it features two national-level club teams. The organization also offers summer recreational team opportunities each year. The Dreamers Volleyball Academy operates year-round on Mondays at the DeSoto Recreation Center, with a monthly fee of $100 or a $30 drop-in fee. Private lessons are conducted by Director Vallery Mitchell along with Coaches Lindsay and Maia at the DeSoto Recreation Center, priced between $70 and $80 per session. Fees for the Junior DreamTeam Club Prep range from $2,350 to $3,000, while DreamTeam Club Volleyball fees vary from $3,250 to $4,000.
